SEVA has been running a special Residential school for the mentally challenged students under the financial support of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment ,Govt. of India since the year 1994-95. At Present there are 96 Number of Children with mental retardation in the age group of 5-18 years are studying under the residential school. All of them are being are provided with residential care including free food, clothing and shelter along with special education. There are 12 no. of trained teachers engaged in imparting education to these deprived children. A part time doctor has been engaged for periodic health check up of the students who visit the school at least once in a week and pay special visits during the emergencies. We are maintaining personal hygiene of the students and providing safe drinking water and sanitation facilities inside the premises of the school. Separate Latrine and bathroom are available for the boys and girls students. The School has facilities for sports and leisure time activities like swing, Slipping slope, Balance, Carom Board, Television Facility, Chess Board, Cricket kit , foot ball Volley Ball and Musical Instruments. We are taking special case to develop speech therapy among our students. We are also providing special training on yoga therapy for good physical and mental health.
A planning to have own sensory park for children with autism and cerebral palsy. We have been providing adequate teaching and learning materials developed by our teachers keeping in mind the special needs of our children with developmental disabilities. We are providing regular guidance and counseling to the parents through the trained counselors and giving them stimulus on how to deal with children with special needs. We hope our school will grow day by day and shall accommodate more number of students with severe and multiple disabilities in its residential setup.
